Sharon Gaiter, OT

Sharon Gaiter, OT, graduated from Florida International University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a drive to offer the best therapy that she could possibly provide. Sharon initially worked in Miami, Florida, but then had the opportunity to work overseas. She began in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, in the Development Disabilities Unit and later moved to Towoomba, Queensland, Australia working with the Children's Health Development Assessment Team. After returning to the US and continuing her work in pediatric occupational therapy, Sharon had a vision for providing therapy to children that would be effective yet fun. In 1999, Sharon and other members of her family opened Kids In Motion, building a company that is centered around the needs of very special children. "It is my job as director of therapy to build programs for each child that comes to Kids In Motion and to make sure that we do everything possible to help the children meet and exceed their goals."

Sharon is married to Peter Gaiter, who is originally from Australia, and they have three boys, John, Matthew, and Christopher. When not working, Sharon enjoys watching her boys play baseball, traveling, and spending time with family.

Susan Justice, PT

Susan has been a physical therapist since 1996, practicing pediatrics in all but one year. After graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with her Masters in Physical Therapy, Susan received her initial training at the Children's Hospital of Alabama. Susan says, "Working in the hospital environment gave me the opportunity to work closely with orthopedists, neurologists, pulmonologists, and other pediatric therapists who brought years of experience to their work. I was able to treat children along the continuum of care from the intensive care unit to outpatient therapy."

After returning to Georgia in 2003, Susan began working for Kids In Motion where she has enjoyed a more relaxed environment and the opportunity to work with children and their families as they grow and progress. "Whether it is with the horses, or walking along a path to the duck pond, I most enjoy being able to get the kids outdoors to work on mobility in a natural environment."

Susan is a Georgia native, having grown up in Gainesville. She attended Duke University where she received a degree in biology and met her husband Kyle, who is a native from Alabama. Susan and Kyle have four children who keep them very busy. In her (limited) spare time, Susan enjoys reading, gardening, and teaching chess to children.

She switched gears in 2000 and found her niche in pediatrics, working for the school system in Fayette and Coweta counties. In 2001, Marla moved with her husband to Edinburgh, Scotland. There she had the wonderful experience of working as a PT in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (special schools). Upon returning to Georgia in 2004, Marla began working for Kids In Motion where she has continued to love the joys and challenges of working with special needs children and their families.
